Having a fun relationship can be difficult at times, especially when you are trying to save money, as we are now. That is why I have compiled a list of fun activities that won’t deplete the wallet. These do depend a bit on your location and on what your city has to offer, but here are a few that shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
Take a Hike!
I will always and forever recommend hikes because they are absolutely awesome, magical, budget friendly, and just beautiful. Sometimes there are fees to go into certain parks, but you can look around, there are apps like Hiking Project and AllTrails that have information and can show you trials near you and if they don’t mention a fee, you can look up that specific trail in the local forest website or give them a call. They are really fun to do especially with friends or a loved one.
Get on a Kayak!
Unfortunately this isn’t as available as it should be. I went on a kayak while in Alaska and man it was fun. I don’t know how much they cost in other places, but we paid $8 hour. An hour was all we needed to bask in the sun, get incredibly tired, and get your pants soaked (you will probably get wet no matter how hard you try).
Do a creative project together
This is very fun, not something you would probably do every day, but definitely something for the weekend or a date night. Create something creative and beautiful! It can be a picture collage, a scrapbook, make the prettiest cake you can possibly make. It can be practical like that table you need, or it can also be portraits of each other using stuff instead of actually drawing it out.
This may not be as intimate as you may want, but volunteering some of your time for a worthy cause is awesome. Money is almost never involved and it provides an great topic to delightfully talk about for hours once you are finished.
Binge watch a new tv series!
This is my favorite thing to do. With less than $10 per month, you can have hundreds of tv shows and movies at your finger tips. Netflix has so many new shows that are short and sweet and actually really good. They also have those that can last days and possibly weeks. The only downside is that if you two get hooked on it, one may watch more episodes without the other.
Watch the sunset or sunrise
So sunset and sunrise both sort of look the same, but they don’t at the same time. There is something magical about just sitting and watching it happen and it happens so quickly that its gone before you know it. I think the sunrise is much more special because it sets the tone for the rest of the day, and since most of us don’t get up until it is long gone, it can be a rare and beautiful sighting for most which is what makes it special.
Have you tried any of these? Tell us how your experience was! Do you have any other awesome ideas that won’t break the bank? Leave them below! I know I missed a few, but we haven’t tried all of them and would love to hear any recommendations. Thank you and have a beautiful day!
